Congratulations again to our Emerging Dietetic Leader

Emerging Dietetic Leader

Kaitlyn Scheuermann, MPP-D, RDN, LD

Kaitlyn received her degrees in Fam. Consumer Sciences Education, and Dietetics as well as a Masters of Prof. Prac in Dietetics from ISU. She also holds the designation of Master Gardener.

Her passion is being at the forefront of teaching others to build habits to thrive in their lives, deepen their connections to their food and the natural world, and make an impact in their communities.

This passion shines through in her professional role with Waukee CSD. Although she is involved in many aspects of the school nutrition operation, the most prominent is the Farm to School Program, which has expanded tremendously with her guidance.

She shares her expertise throughout the state in a multitude of ways, including presentations for state associations, roles with the Iowa Food System Coalition, a non-profit, called Cultivating Community, in Boone, IA. and her involvement as Public Policy Coordinator for IAND as well as the Legislative Committee for the School Nutrition Association of Iowa.

A colleague of Kaitlyn’s describes her as a hardworking, passionate, and innovative leader who has an extraordinary ability to work across professions to engage stakeholders in working towards shared goals for improving the health and nutrition of families.
