Responsibilities:
What You Will Do
The overall purpose of this job is to serve as leader and educator for residents and healthcare teams focusing on nutrition and fluid related outcomes. The primary responsibilities of this job include planning the nutritional care of residents for health maintenance through assessing nutritional needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, and evaluates and reports these results appropriately. Works collaboratively with all leaders and staff to assure that residents receive meals and snacks that meet their respective nutritional needs. Acts as a resource for staff questions related to food and nutrition. This position has contact with other disciplines within Immanuel, with community groups, vendors, other healthcare organizations and other interested parties. Supports and lives out Immanuel’s Mission and CHRIST Promises.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Requirements Education - Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college with major studies in food and nutrition or dietetics required. Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian or Medical Nutrition Therapist is required.
Experience - Two (2) years of dietetics, nutrition, or related experience is required. Prior experience in a hospital and long term care and skilled nursing care Food and Nutrition department. Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
Other Requirements - Be legally authorized (currently licensed or if applicable, certified or registered) to practice the job’s functions and actions in the respective state in which he/she is Only act within the scope of his/her authority to practice in the respective state in which he/she is employed. Basic Life Support (BLS) Skills i.e. Health Care Level Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); Automated External Defibrillator (AED); First Aide.
