Nutrition Specialist Full-Time

Duties:  The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is responsible for assisting Iowa Health-Des Moines clients in achieving their best possible nutritional status through the application of a broad base of advanced practice dietetic knowledge and experience.  The primary goal of Iowa Health-Des Moines is to improve the health of the community through healing, caring and teaching.  Care given by the Clinical Nutrition Specialist contributes directly toward the achievement of positive patient outcomes primarily through relief coverage on the adult critical care, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.  The Clinical Nutrition Specialist also conducts and markets nutrition education/evidence based information to physicians, patients, students, and other health professionals so as to be recognized and perceived as the nutrition expert.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must maintain licensure as a Licensed Dietitian in the State of Iowa.
Must maintain registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Advanced certification preferred and recommended within one to two years of hire.
 
EXPERIENCE: Advanced level; specific to clinical specialty required.  A minimum of two years of progressively responsible clinical dietetic practice within the past five years.  Pediatric Experience Preferred.
