A few facts about myself :
How did you become interested in dietetics?
I took Nutrition 101 as an elective during my junior year of Pre-Med. The first week of being in this class gave me a sincere “a-ha” moment of what I was meant to be when I grew up. My passion was the preventative health side of medicine through nutrition and the rest is history.
What do you enjoy most about being a dietitian?
The thing I most enjoy about being a registered dietitian is working with other registered dietitians. There are RD’s doing amazing things in this world. I am constantly inspired by registered dietitians I know and registered dietitians I want to know. I love hearing about the journey and passion other registered dietitians have and what to share their stories.
Do you have any advice for others who want to be successful in the dietetics field?
Show up and be great everyday. There will be times in your career where you will question where you are and where you want to be as a registered dietitian. If you strive for greatness everyday, you will inspire others and you will end up doing exactly what fulfills your passion.
What is your guilty food pleasure?
Chicken Kiev. It is this luscious chicken dish where cheese, butter and herbs are rolled inside of a chicken breast and then the breast is covered in breadcrumbs and fried. I like mine topped off with a creamy, cheesy bechamel sauce as the side dish. Then I like to finish with something sweet like key lime pie while watching WWE Raw on Monday night.
