Number of possible awards:

The number of awards given each year varies based on specific areas of recognition. None or several awards can be awarded yearly. The award could be given to individuals or groups in the private, public, or business commnity who are non-RD's. It mayl also be given to an RD or an group of RDs if appropriate.

Purpose: To recognize individuals, organizations andbusinesses who have made significant contributions to the profession of dietetics in Iowa. Nomination categories include business and industry, media, health care, legislation/public policy, and others.

Selection criteria established by IDA:

Significant contributions to the profession of dietetics or the science/art of nutrition in the State of Iowa.
Documented impacted on public or targeted audience (s)
Accessibility of materials to the public or target audience (s)
Impact on legislation and/or public policy that would enhance nutrition in the public interest
Nomination procedure:

Nominations may be submitted by individual IDA members or district dietetic associations. Self-nominations are also accepted.
