As you think about bike riding does it bring you back to the good old days of your youth? I remember races around the block that I knew every crack and good ramp stop to get the most speed and lift. Or I remember it as my only form of transportation as I need to get to the swimming pool by 1pm or mornings at the public library. But then as I got my driver’s license if I was “forced” to ride my bike it was when my parent took away my driving privileges. Bike riding quickly became, not cool dude!
Now I find myself coming full circle as I am an adult. My bike gives me a sense of freedom and sometimes a feeling of weightlessness and flight. A bike allows me to take time to see things along a road I have travelled for years in a car and re-notice afresh and new.
This freedom also comes with great physical benefits as I am able to bike for miles, but don’t know if I could even run 1 mile. The health benefits are endless, but here are a couple from bikeradar.com:
